****Alpine Bank Sues Marijuana Business With Similar Name
GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. -- Alpine Bank is suing a marijuana dispensary because the name is too close for comfort.
The dispensary, based in Telluride, is called Alpine Dank. They have a similar logo but instead of a pine tree they have a pot leaf.
The bank asked the dispensary to change the logo but they wouldn't do it.
Alpine Bank is now filing suit hoping to ultimately get the dispensary to change its name.
The bank says it is not targeting Alpine Dank because it is a dispensary. Bank officials say any name similar to theirs will only hurt the bank’s reputation.
