2SSFA - 'Evie' by Chong Ren Rong

The strong beats of the accompanying music never once leave your consciousness throughout the one-minute experimental short film—the piece in itself a pensive take on the contrasts in life. Dreams are juxtaposed against reality, life is a symbolism of life and death.

Via the traditional 2D animation medium of sketches, this mature topic is given lightweight treatment in a transient piece that is more ephemeral than ethereal.

This film was nominated for Best Animation at the recent 2nd Singapore Short Film Awards.

ShoutOUT!: Call for Entries: 2011 Singapore Short Film Awards

The Singapore Short Film Awards 28 February to 6 March 2011 Presented by The Substation Moving Images Co-organised by Objectifs: Centre for Photography and Filmmaking The Singapore Short Film Awards will be back in February 2011 to recognize outstanding achievement in the local short film industry. Calling all filmmakers: Deadline for submissions is Friday 19 November 2010

The Singapore Short Film Awards is back! Letting you re-cap and recall all that’s happened in Singapore short film landscape in 2010! A chance to see films that you may not have seen before and watch the films that you loved again! There will be screenings, awards, winners and prizes!

Submit your film for consideration in the following categories:

1. Best Director
2. Best Animation

3. Best Fiction

4. Best Documentary

5. Best Editing

6. Best Soundtrack

7. Best Art Direction

8. Best Cinematography

9. Best Performance

10. Best Script

An Honorary Award will also be presented to a Singapore filmmaker who has contributed significantly to the film community through his/her work in short films.
